An order from Azerbaijan

Mon Jul 6, 2009, 4:08 AM
YAY!

Last week I got about as international as you can get, receiving my first artwork order (through my website) from Azerbaijan.

Why does that make me international? Because Azerbaijan is about as far from my suburban Australian world as I can imagine, and evokes the most delightfully exotic connotations.

Actually it wasn't an order from an Azerbaijani, but from an Australian who was working in Azerbaijan. It thrills me no less.

You might have noticed I am trying to write "Azerbaijan" as many times as I can in this journal entry. Why? Because Azerbaijan is currently my favourite country. The very word has the loveliest ring to it. Try saying it yourself: "A-Z-E-R-B-A-I-J-A-N".... See what I mean?

Any Azerbaijanis out there, I would be most honoured to receive a reply.

Go Azerbaijan!

Bleary-eyed but happy

Fri May 22, 2009, 4:09 AM
I have been so busy I haven't been able to keep up much of a presence in devianart. But I have not been resting from artistic endeavours. On the contrary. I have been churning it out like never before. The item I posted today is an example of what I have been working on. I hope to exhibit the series somewhere in the courts that I work in. It is so important to be able to laugh at oneself.

Incidentally, I have a new website. I'd be flattered if you had a peek. Click here to visit: [link]

Ear Ear!

Mon Feb 2, 2009, 5:59 PM
Do you realise that the ear has two spirals in it?
One spiral seems to reach a dead end, while the other winds deeper into the ear, the core of one's being.
The spiral can be a symbol of the life journey, with its search for meaning and wholeness. Sometimes we listen to something or someone who leads us to a dead end, and we only end up with more unanswered questions. If we can pick ourselves up, listening to the lesson and embark on a new journey, we may just find ourselves on the way to the core.
